Desktop/Server Memory Installation Guide

Installing new memory modules
Step 1: (Please refer to the system/motherboard manuals if necessary)
Power down and unplug system.
Open computer cover.
Ground yourself by touching any of the unpainted metal surfaces.
Remove Memory from package.

Step 2:
Locate computer memory bays.




Pull out the Clips from both ends of the memory slot and Line up gap of module with gold contacts facing down. Tips: All memory modules have keyed (gap) for proper alignment. Aligning gap for the memory module with the corresponding gap from the memory slot first before inserting the memory. Do not force the memory into the slot.


Insert and apply equal pressure on both ends of the module, until the module is into position and Clips from memory slot should snap up around the modules..

Repeat steps with additional modules as necessary.

Step 3:
Put back the computer cover.
Plug in the power cord.
Installation complete.

Removing the existing memory module
Step 4: (Please refer to the system/motherboard manuals if necessary.)
Power down and unplug system.
Open computer cover.
Locate computer memory bays.

Pull outward on the Clips from both ends of the memory slot.

Remove the module from the slot.
Removal of the memory complete.

Verifying the additional memory
Step 5: (Please refer to different Operating System Manuals if necessary.)
Power up the system and log into Windows.
Right Click on "My Computer", Select "Properties", and the additional memory should be shown as below.

Troubleshooting If the memory is not recognized by the computer, please try to re-install it again but "Press Harder and Wiggle it a bit". The gold pins at the bottom of the memory should be inserted firmly all the way into the memory slot. You can also wiggle the memory a bit to make sure that the memory are connected to the slot properly.
